Big B Arsenal
« on: October 04, 2005, 08:08:28 AM »
I have a SlayR for dry and Plastic for spares/burnt.  I would like to buy two balls to go above the SlayR that will cover both THS and Sport shots.  I was thinking about getting the Smokin'(backend on THS) and Nemesis (control for flat patterns).  I am planning to use the Nemesis if there is too much head oil for the smokin', but I usually don't have trouble getting the ball to hook because of my slower than average ball speed.  Do you think the Smokin' and Nemesis would be a good combo for me?

Also, do you think there is too big of a gap between the SlayR and Smokin/Nemesis?  Would a PG pearl fill that void and open up a broken down house shot better than the SlayR?

No, you should find much gap between the smokin and slayr.

The Nemesis would also be a good choice in my opinion.  I was going to punch a Nemesis or Impulse Zone, the Impulse won out.

I would maybe consider the Punisher/Rampage over the smokin, depending on your budget.

I can get the Smokin (or any inferno or zone assym.) for 83 shipped and the BVP line for 73 shipped, so the difference is only 10 bucks.  I just have to buy at least 4 balls per order.

Just b/c something is more expensive doesn't mean it is better.....

Since you have to order 4....I would pick.

Ultimate Inferno
Absolute Inferno
Rampage
Red pin zone classic if you can get that one..

I can't get the red pin classic zone, and I don't have enough ball speed or oil to make the Ultimate useable without a major surface change.  We order as a team, so I don't have to get all 4 balls myself.  Thank you for your insight though.  Any other suggestions?

Nemesis or Impulse
Rampage or Smokin

Since you are a low speed player, I'd also suggest

Slay/R
Rampage
Smokin' Inferno

Nevertheless, a solid and/or matte ball would not be bad for control jobs. A Nemesis could be a wothwhile addition, but also the Black Sparkle particle Power Groove - just in case the SI is too spasmic and you need a smoother path to the pocket.
