Absolute amazement
« on: February 07, 2006, 03:19:22 AM »
I bowl in a house that has light medium conditions at best. I've been throwing a 6x5 Crash (pin above middle finger) a 4.5 x 4 Green Gargoyle and a Fire Quantum drilled 4.5x4.5, all pin over ring finger.

A friend had an Absolute that he just never matched up well with. He gave it to me and I set it up with the pin above and between the fingers with the CG kicked right, about a 5X 3.5 drilling. It has 3/4 finger and side.

I was planning on using it in the summer but I thought I'd throw it in practice to see how quickly it would burn up. I don't jump on the ball like I used to, but I still put decent hand in the ball. Too my surprise, the ball just coasted threw the heads and made a very nice controllable turn into the pocket. Shot 812 with it in league and even used it for a few games afterwards in pots before it started burning up.

Has anyone else been able to use their AI on less than medium conditions? Ball  still has the out of box surface. I know the side and finger helped quite a bit with getting the ball down the lane, but I was amazed that he handled the condition so well. I'm going to give it a go again this week. Everyone who I talked too claimed the lanes were normal. I should have thrown one of my other balls, but the strikes kept coming and again, I was confused at how the ball was reacting.

My Absolute is way stronger than I thought it'd be. It's in right of ring, cg stacked, OOB cover. It loves the oil and I love it! When conditions break down I have to really swing it, but it burns up pretty quick.

mine is drilled up the same as Fatboy8's
on wood lanes, fresh, its rediculous, carries everything in the pocket.
there really isnt a point to where it burns up, but i do notice that my scores with it are much higher at the beginning of the nite (4 games).

so, fatigue is possible, and burning up is possible, regardless, i have no problem getting it to the pocket.

the finish on it is 220 Grit with 3M Rubbing Compound Finish.

i threw a 708 first night with it during the first 3 games.

its so good, i have another one stored away with 1E drilling on it.
