Title: Absolute and Blazing?
Post by: Matt Fortney on February 22, 2005, 01:29:00 PM
Would it be fair to say that these would make a good two ball arsenal?

There a is a gap but for a normal shot and depending i on the bowler that is a pretty good 2 ball arsenal in my opinion

That is not a bad 2 ball arsenel at all if you are only looking at carrying 2 balls.  HOWEVER....another way to go, and a better way depending on the bowler, would be the Impulse Zone with the Blazing Inferno.  The reason is that the Absolute and the Blazing are both pearl resins.  If you are limiting yourself to only 2 balls, it may be best to have only 1 pearl and the other a solid reactive or light load particle.  Just another thought to mull over.

Impulse zone and Classic zone, light load particle and a pearl reactive.

That could be a winning combonation also.

One of them got a boo-boo on it Monday night, I was beyond pissed.

Thinking about selling it and starting with a new one. The scar isn't more than an eyesore, but if someone wants it for $80, it is theirs!

To keep it simple, start with the BLAZING. I have been throwing that ball for 3 weeks now and have yet to shoot under 620, which is astounding to me as my average is 175. I have shot it through a Valdez size oil spill on the lanes to lanes so dry you would think the house is sanding them. The ball just finds the pocket. Everyone has a different throwing style and you must take that into consideration but I would say this is the first ball I've had that I would condsider a must have. Just for reference, I also throw a real deal and a goliath. This ball smokes them both. Hope this helped

There's no such thing as a good "two ball" arsenal. It defies the meaning of the word "arsenal"!!!
You have to have at least 3 balls to have an effective arsenal.

Since it's a GIVEN that EVERY arsenal POSITIVELY MUST INCLUDE an Absolute Inferno, you're left with finding a ball on either side of it for those rare occasions when it doesn't work. For me, if I was forced to limit my 5 ball arsenal (Plus my ever present Dick Weber spare ball), I would choose the following:

Fuze Eliminator (normally lightly polished - can be scuffed for a flood)
Absolute (The mainstay of the arsenal)
Label drilled polished Danger Zone (Polished Nemesis might fit here).

If I encountered more dry I might replace the Danger Zone with my Monster Red/Black (or Punisher for you Monster challenged guys)
