I agree, the cover acts like its a solid or something cause the oil dont stay on the surface for too long. My total seems to be extremly weaker then most other Total Infernos cause I can play this ball using a very straight line. My Rampage is alsmot stronger!

I can attest to having seen Mike throw his on sufficient oil.

This thread makes me wonder about the Total, I'm considering trading for one.

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

I know the first-ish run of the Totals came out shinier and striaghter overall. Did you get one of the first ones?

Tag Team Coaching success story

I was unaware of this little tid bit. This could be the cause to why I am seeing every one else who use it have 10 boards more hook. They use mine and they say i have a dud! As for the burning up comment, I highly doubt its burning up, especially not with this current drill pattern. Welp time to go bowling and win some cash using my TOTAL INFERNO! lol

Mike,

If your Total Inferno is not grabbing early enough, why not try changing the surface to your basic "Rough Buff" level: sand to 220 grit and apply a healthy dose of Rough Buff. Alternatively, if you can't get your hands on any, change the surface to 2000 grit matte (Abralon pad). That's what BrunsRicoh (spelling?) said that the Rough Buff was equivalent to.

This way, you eliminate the surface finish as possible cause for your problem.

A friend uses a Total Inf sometimes and he is EXTREMELY ball speed dominant (few revs; lots of speed) and his, even with its short 1" pin, does grab the lane fairly well.

Already done that. Makes the reaction almost non-exsistant. I got the best reaction with 800 grit no polish. Anyway, I have it figured out to work in my arsenal and would not change anything to make it hook anymore, if it is even able to which I dont think it can.

As for this comment and I quote, "Welp time to go bowling and win some cash using my TOTAL INFERNO!"

I did just that last night in the 9-pin no tap sweeper.

Game 1: 264 (2 solid 10 pin no taps)
Game 2: 276 (Natural)
Game 3: 252 (1 solid 8 pin no tap in the 10th fill ball 251 natural)
Game 4: 300 (1 no tap, 1st frame, would have been a 290 natural game)

Won 3rd game side pot for $10, Won 2 natural strikes, strike pot for $30, and Won the tournament (9 pin no tap handicap sweeper) shooting 1092 scratch...and I would have won without my handicap added. After cap, 1132. $80 on the night...Nothing like saying what your gonna do then actually going out and doing it!
