Better ball for Med.-Dry

I'm looking for a good all around med-dry ball from brunswick that i can get inside of 20 with when the track area starts to burn up and still get the corners out...I am considering a smokin or radical.  I am a high rev med-high speed righty with a high track.  A good measuring stick of what kind of condition i am bowling on would be to say that normally i use a red pulse drilled pin under ring finger typically for 2 to 2.5 games and i can stay just inside of the track area around 15 to 12.  Then the carry goes away.  Any other suggestions besides these 2 balls? Drilling suggestions would also be appreciated.

Any suggestions guys?

Punisher, or a pearl reactive Power Groove (the latter gives a more arcing reaction - it is pretty strong and versatile).

If it has to be high end, then the Smokin' Inferno will IMHO be the best choice. An overall stronger brother of the Punisher, IMHO very similar reaction. The RI might work, but the coverstock is very nervous. I'd rather take it as the 1st ball out of the bag, and then switch to a Punisher.

Another ball to consider is MoRich's Sahara - it would IMHO fall between the Punisher and the Smokin' Inferno.

For drillings, you might refer to the drilling sheets provided on the Brunswick website under the specific balls.

Thanks Dizzy, I have a mercury which i thought would solve this problem, but the carry isn't there, I was thinking if i go to a higher end ball and get the right surface on it, I may be more successful.  Also for better carry from deeper inside, do you think keeping the pin further or closer to my PAP is the right idea?

Hard to say... it really depends on your style. But if you want it for later games, I'd definitively put the pin more than 4" away from the PAP, CG stacked or slightly swung out towards PAP (say up to 75°) to tame the break point a little. Putting it above or below the fingers is a matter of taste or what works best for you - a snapper finish or a smoother, earlier rolling reaction. It is best to cinsult your ball driller about this topic, having you seen on the lane and having a reference ball at hand.

Yeah, Smokin' iis overall stronger and reads the lane a bit earlier than the Punisher. I'd go with the latter one, or a Sahara if you want to spend extra cash (for a flashy ball).

A ball for medium/Dry that you can play inside of 20. The Power Groove!! This ball hooks alot more than most people think it would!!!

I hear the punisher is good also though?

Punisher....mine is 4x2...box conditon.
Smooth reacting,great carry...perfect for the condition u describe.

If you can find  Track Desert Heat....would also be ideal.

I have both Ambush and Smokin. I've been using my Smokin for about 4 months.  So far it never fails me when the lane starting to brake. I even start using it on a 3rd game don't care if lane get Dry or stays a bit Medium. Then the Strikes continue. The Ambush also a really good for dry. It is drilled 2L and cg is straight down.  One thing I like about the Ambush it does not have a late shift  like the smokin. It goes long  and stays loooooong. Like laser guided.I used it on Outside track which make a perfect angle for strike. To me the Smokin is more versatile ball and use inside track than Ambush. Good Luck.
