Smoking Inferno as strong as OI?
« on: January 24, 2006, 06:30:09 PM »
Please compare the Smoking and Original Inferno:
Which is stronger in the midlane and back end?
Which has more length?
Which is better for medium dry?

Personally, i think the Smokin as a lot of back end, goes a very long way also. The OI grabs the lane a little earlier but doesnt have as much back end. The Smokin is more angular, but not what brunswick says it is. The OI is a hard arc, but not as angular.
Also, I have both.

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

My Smokin' has alot more backend than my OI. It also has a sharper move to the pocket. I can use the Smokin' on more of a medium-dry broken down shot, and not have to worry about it burning up at all. The difference could be the drillings though, that's in my profile.

I think that both has very little difference in the midlane.  I know for sure the my SI is stronger in the back end.  My AI seems to go just a little longer then my SI. For me, I love using my SI on medium dry conditons.

the SI is real jerky.  the OI is much more readable and less extreme reactions

Sorry about my previous reply.  I also have an OI.  Between the SI and AI, i do use the SI on med dry.  But between the SI and OI, I use the OI for this reason..."It's the most versatile ball i've ever owned."

In regards to what d pat said about length I would think the SI would go longer due to the higher RG core.

I had an OI like 2 years ago and that ball was incredible on short patterns. It gives you length but not jerky. I won a tourney on a 30ft pattern on old wood with it. The absolute is all midlane with a strong arc
