I got mine today and drilled it up 5-1/4"X4" Pin 1-1/2" up with the Axis 5-7/16 and zero. X-hole located 2-1/4 from the Axis for increased track flair. Surface was out of the box “Ruff Buffâ€
I am a right handed high track with medium to high revs player with a ball speed in the 16-1/2 to 17mph range.
I have only gotten to toss it for a short time before the first shift of leagues. I started rolling on a broken down THS, followed up on the same THS after a filler pass was run for the League.
The ball rolled almost exactly like my Ultimate but 10 boards less.
It was clean through the front; even with the chewed up heads before the filler pass was put down. It went nice and long before making a nice short arc to the pocket.
I would say that it was not a skid flip or hockey stick type jump but more of a short sharp continuous arc.
The ball had plenty of power at the pocket as I had it sending plenty of messengers and blowing apart racks. After the Filler was run the line did not really change much but allowed the ball to retain more energy to the break point which allowed for even more hit.
Brunswick rep said that the Absolute would be close to the original Inferno but a little more length and a little more angular. At this stage I would have to agree.
As I see it, definitely a good complement to the Ultimate.
I hope to test it out more this week on different shots and lane types as well as play with the surface a bit. I will post the results when I can.
Cheers,

Well after bowling with it for a few leagues I have to say I like the ball.
It took a few surface adjustments to get it right for me; I settled on 400 wet sand and then polished it to a high gloss with Brunswick factory polish.
That allowed the ball to get through the heads and read the mids correctly for me.
At 220 ruff buff the ball wanted to go too early in the heads.
The ball gets into a nice arcing roll and makes a definite turn to the pocket at the breakpoint but not a jump. It hits like all new B'balls do, throwing the pins around and carrying just about the world, however on pure shots the ball stays clean in the pocket and blows the whole rack into the pit.
I find it a great complement to the Ultimate for me. If you liked the original Inferno then you will like this one when you are ready to replace it.
Cheers,
