I've got an Icon 2 from Columbia. This when polished up to a marble finish is truly a go long and straight till it unleashes a big large sweeping backend! And it hits on long synthetic patterns.
Also working nicely in our center has been many a WMB and some Raging Inferno and Eliminators(which I have and not tweaked to perfection.
Some experts on this site have likened the WMB to the Impulse Zone but said the Impulse zone covered fewer boards....I thought great!!! I'm already covering the left side of the lane with my ICon2.
So I first tried a Formula from Columbia and even though I covered the pattern very simply(they say this a great wet dry ball) the move is too slow on our long shot on Brunswick Anvilane to kick the 7 out! The Icon 2 can.
SO I set the Impulse zone up a little weaker than my friends hot bowling WMB.
Pin touching upper corner of my ring and the mass bias(which was offset left in a strong position. 4 1/2 pin to pap and mass bias about 4 1/2 also.
I got just what I wanted as far as board coverage. A little less than his WMB and my Icon2.
I abraloned up too 2000(I find this rougher than 2000 wet sand but afraid to sand particles). Then hit with Ebonite particle polish(usually a reaction killer).
First few balls no reaction then it started flyin!
Ball is almost everything I'm seeking but it is moving a bit much in midlane.
I'm going to go back to my bag of polish tricks. And see if I can get this sucker to go straighter before it applies it very impressive strong backend that covers just a moderate amount of boards. Great carry but this ball must go more towards a marble finish on our long but very thin oil shot!
Will be applying some 2000 grit and then some Delayed reaction from Track....if that fails I'll give it 5 minutes in teh lustreking like our locals do everytime they bowl at this jumpy center.
Think last weeks pattern E with less hold area.

Despite low volume of pattern very often light load particles with gloss are used!

Proud owner of a 140 first game average this year! Don't bowl me the second two games though! (two warm up balls in league..thanks proprietors)
Any suggestions from Brunswick Experts??? Either on surface or setup?
