Title: advice for a friend of mine
Post by: tennispro11_7 on December 26, 2012, 05:25:41 PM
One of my good friends is a classic stroker.  4 step approach...about 200-250 revs.  He currently has a Loaded Revolver that works great in games 2-3, but really struggles in the first game with it.  He has difficulty getting a strong reaction the first game, and either comes in light or can't carry.  What do you think would be a good complement to a loaded revolver.  Our house uses a medium volume of oil.

If he could get his hands on a Wicked Siege that should fit the bill rather well.  Same cover with a stronger core and slightly stronger OOB finish that the Loaded Revolver.

A C•(System)™ maxxed-out might also be appropriate if the Wicked Siege is too difficult to find or if he prefers symmetrical equipment over strong asymmetrical equipment.

A C System Maxxed out will be great when he needs more ball. He will then be able to ball down to the Loaded Revolver once they begin to go away.

Maxxed Out might work, but my first choice would be the Aura with the gloss barely knocked off.  It would finish stronger and give him a bit more miss room on most house conditions.

I would say a dv8 hell raiser revenge this will definitely give him the earlier roll he probably needs as well as being a dv8 they naturally come with backend in them.

It is funny that you mention the revenge.  I have one and can't get it to hook at all.  I also am a classic stroker, and I get great ball reaction from my Ultimax and Anarchy.  I seriously can't get the Revenge to hook more than a few boards.  My stuff is drilled by someone who knows my game and is a Silver level coach too.

I guess that was a bit of a derailment-but I don't want to recommend the revenge to him needless to say :)

The revenge is very rolly. Most of the ones I've drilled rolled way to early. P1 weight holes and polish on them and they are much better.....i would recommend the p1 hole....
