I truly doubt if it's a blem/second, that it was done purposely. Maybe it slipped through the cracks.

Colors can be tricky. I have had a few that showed phasing over time, or slight color changes, but nothing that affected performance whatsoever.  With every ball being it's own identity (color-wise) I'm not surprised when things change a bit.

These are ever evolving coverstocks (usually using new polymers and new formulations) that take time to discover how colors are affected by wear, climate, lane surfaces, varying types of oil and volumes...  The list of possibilities is long. 

As well as Brunswick stands behind their product, any mishaps would be unforeseen, and if they affect performance I'm certain the issue will be resolved through proper channels.

I don't think he was talking about color phasing. I think he meant that pieces of the surface looked like they drilled out small pieces and filled them in with resin afterwards. I have had balls that seemed to have these "patches" or perfectly round dots where the fill-in resin was a slightly different color from the rest of the ball. But mine was not a Brunswick ball. If these were patches on the ball, it should have been sold as a 2nd.

However if they are few, it should not affect the balls performance. But that's little consolation if you shell out $200+ for a ball once a year or so for a new first quality ball.

Visionary is the only company from whom I bought "blems", which should have been sold as first quality and would have by EVERY other company.

Thanks, charlest!  A long night at work, and I did not read it carefully enough.  If there are several patches then the ball probably slipped past someone in Q.C. and perhaps the ball should have been sold as a blem.

However, I've received balls from a distributor before that were even DRILLED!  In other words, some pro shop sent it back, and the distributor didn't even catch it (hard to believe, but true).  We open the box to find another delay for our customer who thought his ball had arrived.

In this case it's more likely plant damage and should have been caught... Let us know how it's resolved, brunswickcomplete.

Encountered twice. All before driling brand new in box. Bought through the authorized official channels and both claimed as 1st.
Why not just improve production quality and do away with 2nds altogether?

Well, yours only had five, so consider yourself lucky. 

I was surprised by that answer.  I guess I am spoiled by owning so many Visionary balls.

Thinking about it, I remember seeing some small patches on a couple of my bowling balls, but I don't remember which ones, that was a few years ago.
