Title: AI Grit Rating

I know the AI is Rough buff OOB but if it had a grit rating what would it be.
I'd like a starting point if i were to shine or dull it. Thanks.

220 polished with GRITLESS rough buff.  It doesn't have a grit value, sand the unlying surface accordingly.

i recently changed the grit with great success.

I'm not sure that's 100% true. The label seems to indicate that by saying you can increase the length by sanding finer before applying ROugh Buff, what is actually happening? Their High Gloss polish adds length like Black Magic does and Legends Factory finish polishdoes, yet we don't really know what Rough Buff is. The finish "seems" tp be halfway between a compound polish and an extra fine grit, like Ebonite Matte finish which is 1200 grit. I'd like to call it a "semi-polish" to make up a word that seems to describe what I see.

Brunswick's website states that they sand it to 400 grit, then polish it with rough buff. The shop that I deal with showed me the rough buff and it looks like a rubbing compound. When I have used rubbing compound on a ball, it made the surface more smooth, but did not do much polish wise. Maybe the equivalent of around 1000 grit in regards to the smoothness.

I would play with it a little bit-what can it hurt? You can always adjust if necessary
