AI or UI
« on: February 23, 2005, 06:49:08 AM »
Hi, I'm going to put in an order for a brunsiwck ball either tonight or tomorrow. Ive got it down to a ultimate inferno and an absolute inferno. I bowl on medium to heavy oil and I like to start at the 15 board, and throw out to the 6 or 7 board. I have a speed at about 17 mph and I'm not sure of my rev rate. If anyone has any last second tips or any helpful hints, please feel free to offer them.

I think either ball will work, it's just a matter of what shot shape you want. From what I've seen, and I'm no expert, the AI will push further down the lane and offer more recovery. The UI will rev up much quicker and will provide strong and continuous arc. Just a note, you will probably have to shine the UI up, as dull it will want to burn at your feet. It's a super aggressive reactive ball. Both would make fine choices. Just figure out if you want more recovery or more control.

Go with the AI.  If you got the UI you'd DEFINITELY have to polish it.  The things a beast.  You'd be able to use the AI on more conditions, anyways.

I just got my UI today and will be using it tommorrow nite for league. It was a hard choice to make but earlier rolling balls work better for my game. But...u never know.

Arsenal as it now stands:

swamp = super carbide bomb
long/heavy = UI
med = hybrid dirty bomb (most people will agree here)
spare = white dot

my x factor ace and triple xtreme are now for sale only to someone in the local area, so i can avoid the shipping hassle. So if you live in the orange county or los angeles area hit me back.

If, hypothetically speaking, he *were* to do this, what drillings would you suggest for them?  Would you lay the Ultie and the Abbie out the same way?

I'm an advocate for letting the covers be the only variable, so yes, I'd probably lay them out the same. Never seen him bowl, but I'd probably take the surface to 1000 Abralon on the Ultimate and give the AI a slight buff.
