No, it has Activator+, from the Intense Inferno.

Rough buff, my best translation is they took the ball from 400 grit to polish in one step, using a single buff. I think I remember hearing that they are usually double buffed for more shine, like the Bruiser, Intense, etc.

I think the "+" is supposed to be just a little stronger... but retain most of the same characteristics...

Well, according to the "Brunswick 2004-2005 Ball Lineup" insert that was in BTM a while back, the High Gloss Polish finish is achieved by "even(ly) wet sand(ing) to a 400-grit finish then apply Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish."

So, are you saying that the rough buff involves a single coat of polish, while the high gloss uses two?

Brunswick now has a Rough Buff polish on their website to restore this matte/sheen surface.

Activator+ is actually more stuck to the lane than Activator.

I wasn't aware that Brunswick had a rough buff polish, but I may want to pick up a qt. if our dist. has them. I'm sure you can achieve the same effect by setting the ball spinner to the lower speed.

thanks Nick...so the Intense gets its length from the core not the cover, because...the II is longer than the AI, yes, and both have Act + .....so the higher RG in the II gets it it's length so-to-speak?

Yep! I know most reaction is coverstock, but you have to look at the core in situations like this !

So the AI is the best OVERALL ball in the B line-up, yes ?

I think with some surface prep, the Absolute can be used on pretty much ANY condition. I will be drilling my 2nd today with appx a 5x3 with an x-hole, and buff a little higher for length.

OK, what is it ? cleaner and more angular, or more "stuck" to the lane, like Nick says

From where I sit, the Nemesis is the best *overall* ball in the Brunswick line, with the Zone Classic is a close second.

I've seen a number of bowlers throw the Absolute, and it's looking more and more like a ball that fits a specific niche.

IME Activator+ is cleaner and more angular than Activator.

That "stuck to the lane" thing comes straight off of the Intense Inferno drill sheet;  none of the pro shop guys that I know can explain this to my satisfaction.
