AI, UI, OI and Nationals
« on: January 29, 2005, 12:26:12 AM »
Left handed...

I have an OI at 1000 sanded and a UI at 1200 polish. The OI turns about 3-4 feet sooner and angular. The UI, my favorite ball in the last many years, is a strong arc.

Problem is, the UI squirts in oil. I'm still dead in synthetic houses and on sport shots. With Nationals in early March, I'm trying to figure out what to do. To be brief, Nationals have always killed me, period. Just can't get a bend of any type, even when there are other lefties on my pair getting 6-8 boards more.

I see the AI coming, but it looks like a pearl? My low rev high tilt style seems to favor a low Rg symmetrical core. Should I sand my UI for oil and try the AI to fill it's spot, or vice versa, or something else?

Thanks in advance.

if you like where the UI is now, why not buy another UI and sand it and leave the current UI for where it is now?

Good thought, but there are two problems...

1. Have two of the same ball? !!!!
2. The UI has never treated me well when dull, although maybe it just needs more oil.....

If you have a day or 2 in BR before you bowl, I suggest you stop in at the Brunswick booth and tell them the same thing you are asking here. By then, the lane conditions will be known and the Brunswick boys should steer you in a direction that should help.
