Massive Damage vs Storm Frantic
« on: May 24, 2012, 08:42:11 AM »
Hi,

Has anybody thrown both of these and could you compare the two? I am thinking about drilling up a Massive Damage I have to replace the Frantic in my arsenal. I cant get a read on the Frantic. The other balls in my current arsenal are:

Modern Marvel
Ulti-Max
Green/Blue Karma
T-Zone spare ball

Thanks!

the massive damage, imo, is weaker and WAY WAY smoother. youll see a stronger and more pronounced reaction out of the frantic. either way it will go under your ulti and modern

I can't speak to the Frantic but the Massive Damage is a very under-rated ball. I second the smoothness.  The Activator + coverstock is very easy to tune to get the right reaction.  Sand it down and it will take the oil or polish it up.  I found it be a perfect benchmark piece for anything from light oil to fresh THS.

But the thing that really distinguishes this ball for me is the impressive carry.  Brunswick really hit on a good core/cover combo.  Too bad the ball and line are being discontinued as the Damage is equally as good on light oil.

I think the Frantic might be a bit closer to the new Versa Max.
