I bowled tonight at a synthetic house with a very tough shot. I couldn't even start out with my Columbia Action, it was more of a medium shot. I bowled 204,192 and 158 with Ambush (stayed with it 1 game too long). I don't have a medium ball right now so I used it extra game, then switched to Columbia Flipside Panic for a 196, 182, then used a 14 lb Brunswick Punisher for a 182. There is a hole in my arsenal between Ambush and Flipside Panic, if that gives you an idea about the ball. Even though it is pearl, it is still a lightly loaded particle which makes it a little aggressive. It only has a little pearl mixed in to give it a smooth transition between oil and dry and to smooth out reaction on carrydown. If you look at Brunswicks hook charts you will see it is similar in length and hook to some of the medium infernos.
I have a lot of ball speed and I can't use this ball for dry lanes. Look at Bowlingball.com website to see drilling patterns for Brunswick. They also give you a sheet with each ball.
Brunswick recommends this ball for medium dry to medium oily lanes. Even with my speed it plays for me on medium oil to medium-heavy. A 5-1/2 inch drilling like you mention (with a pin out from cg 3-1/2 to 5 inches) with pin over fingers would give you length, minimum hook according to Brunswick chart.

ps I really like this ball, it doesn't jump when it hits dry, just hooks too much as the lanes dry out. If you can play inside lane, you could probably stay with ball longer than I can.
