B-Ball for ABC Nationals
« on: September 14, 2004, 05:14:10 AM »
What is a better brunswick ball & layout matchup for ABC Nationals lane conditions (flat, sport condition)?  Last year i had a polished Inferno c/w 4L layout. Found that it had too much over/under reaction, as it would snap too hard in the backend leaving too many high pocket hits, nice hit but did not have the control consistancy.  Thinking of a Zone Classic, Intense, or Ultimate?  Whick layout? Suggestions???

The Reno shot is not usually what we have. The mids are seem to be
oiled more. I would think a Ultimate Inferno or Monster Bruiser would be a good balled either drilled 4 x 2 w/hole or Pin under the ring finger with the cg kicked out and x/hole down.

But it depends how you throw the ball and what type of reaction you are looking for.

Not knowing your game, it would be hard to make a specific recommendation.  What was recommended for me, though, was an Ultimate Inferno, pin below fingers, CG in the thumb-positive quadrant with an XH down (six inches from grip center through the CG).  I didn't heed this advice, and I paid the price.  However, I'm thinking about drilling an Ultimate like this for the National Mixed.

Hope this helps.

Bowling style, power-tweener. I throw a med-speed, high-rev type of shot, mainly plays inside line 3rd or 4th arrow.
