Title: Another Fury Question for ya...HELP!!!
Post by: Matt Fortney on March 16, 2007, 01:12:15 PM
Have my fury drilled up pin above ring finger, cg stacked, turns out to be about 4.5 x 4.5. Fairly strong drilling, but to be honest with you, i can't make the thing move much more than my "down and in" zone classic. And most of the time, when i do get it to the pocket...ten pin city.

had the same results with all sorts of different covers too, OOB, 1000, 2000, 4000 abralon, 600 plus high gloss, 1000 abralon plus high gloss, 600 and 1000 with rough buff...lost lol.

a little about me to help:
medium high revs, not sure the number, 15-16 mph. axis point 5 over 3/4 up.

let me know what you guys think is in order...x hole, plug a re-drill, lmk, i really want to love this ball lol.

Matt

Whats the flare separation like?

Were you certain on your PAP?

flare separation is probably about 3/8" maybe a touch less...and we checked my axis on the fury, and it's 4 7/8 and 3/4 up.

Well I can tell you if the seperation is less than 3/8, definitely not overflaring.

Is there anybody hooking the lane while you need to go down and in, or you trying out the ball during open play?

the only reason over-flaring entered my mind is because it seems to be a popular solution with the fury's that are...under performing i guess you'd say.

yeah no one else has any problem hooking anything. to be honest with you, i can play a few boards deeper than my fury with my red zone.

Matt is usually the one to hook the lane. He does cover quite a few boards, and his down and in shot is like my hooking the lanes. Still a lot of hook.

So maybe his strong drill is just too much for him, regardless of surface?

if it would help anyone to get a feel for my rev rate...no idea to be honest, i have a video from last season that might help. i haven't changed hardly a thing since then, maybe a little smoother now...if it helps take a look...

I don't have any experience with OOB on mine, I rough buff it before I dill it and its working nice, and actually it started to show some signs of checking up a at the midlane after about 10 games now.  To me the Fury is about 7 boards stronger than my Radical so far.

Just don't know, not that strong a bal, and like i said...ten pin city when i can find the pocket...has to be a solution out there somewhere...just want to guess the right solution right away, before i plug-redrill...and have to plug-redrill again lol.

Ball is a lot better once you get some conditioner in the cover. Your current drill may be a too strong, sounds like it revs up and shuts down.

pin under bridge? not arguing but won't that burn up a little quick on me? seems like if i did that it would start early and finish before it gets to the pindeck...i don't know though, gotta try something.
