my fury
« on: March 16, 2007, 07:48:22 AM »
alright im sure im gonna get a lot of crap for posting this, but anyways...i got my fury from a guy on here, plugged the thumb hole and went to bowl on the usbc pattern to see how it reacted, the ball was pin up and the cg pretty much straight down about 3inches. i expectd this ball to be the HOOK MONSTER everyone is talking about, well this ball pretty much was a plastic ball with this drilling. i think it might just be the drillin, i dont flare the ball that much and this ball came back with rings of oil pretty mcuh acorss the whole ball. but then i pulled out my awesome hook and that ball out hooked the fury by a good 8-10 boards...so then my buddy threw the fury on a house pattern and his red zone out hooked it...obviously i figured the fury wouldnt domuch cuz there wasnt enough oil from wut i was thinking, but the ball had at least 12 flares lines and he only normally gets around 7 or so...so were going to plug it and re drill it...im thinking the driling used in brunsnick's video...jsut my 2 cents on this ball for now...ill post again once we get another one

.

we're going to need more technical information than that.

It's probably over flaring, but give us more.

Ryan, there is a big difference in 3inch pin to PAP pin up, cg stacked, and 5inched pin to PAP with the pin up.  You say this ball is flaring more than you normally get, I'd lean with MegaMav on this and think overflaring, but more details are needed to have a real idea.

i had the same problem and ric hamlin from on here told me to take the surface to 2000 abralon, that seemed to fix it. before even with OOB it didnt hook at all.

if you're giving it up, then remember to drill your next "HOOK MONSTER" with a weaker pin position, 4.5" to 5.5" PIN to PAP, to prevent this "dead ball syndrome" from happening in the future.
