I am gertting a Swarm once it comes in. I am up int the air on how I want to drill the ball. I want it to fit inbetween my cell pearl and link. Cell Pearl is 5X3, flares a buttload and needs longer oil with plenty in the heads,n putting a weight hole in ti to try and tame it doen. Link is 4 1/4 X 4 3/4 CG. Good for lighter oil without much carrydown. These balls are greast but there is to big a gap so am hoping the swarm will fit.
Has anyone drille dhtis ball rico, or pin down. My initial layuout was going to be pin in ring finger 4 3/4 by 4 1/4. But twould liek to hear how anyone elses roled wqith the two payouts stated. I hear the ball it preety long and strong and would like a little more control.
Thanks in advance.

Mine is 4" from PAP and below the fingers, and I love it. With the new core and the high gloss finish it still gets easy length. Nice, strong finish once it hits friction.

Mine is drilled 5 1/2 to PAP. It is still long but a little smoother on the back part. I had two friends of mine drill theirs RICO. Both love them and the ball is alot smoother than mine. Hope this helps.

I have never tried a rico drill yet, and it has always intrigues me. My only worry with that drill is that with the low diff on the ball and my semi high track of 5 1/4 over 1/2 up. That is going to make the pin to PAP pretty far away like 5 3/4 is what i am thinking, will have to check. That would make the lfare pretty small, and might make it a little weaker than I am wanting.

If you are 5 1/4" over, then the pin would be 5 1/2" from your PAP. Depending on your rev rate, it can be a lower flare potential pin to PAP distance, but by placing the weight hole 6 3/4" from the pin, which is going to be a strong flare increasing weight hole, you are going to increase the flare, as well as the overall dynamics of the core and ball. The core is higher RG, as well as high polish, so it will be clean but smooth through transition-down lane.

I have a a pretty good rev rate. Around 350 I would say. I forgot all about the weight hole, which as you have said before increases the core dynamics in a stronger way.
Does anybody ever move the rico drill to the right for higher trackers, or does that defeat the whole purpose of the drill. Just curious.

You can adjust the pin from the center of the core, just need to keep the CG and weight hole at a 45 degree angle.
Are you thinking you are a high track?

i guess i can't consider myself a high tracker, i use to be 5 5/8 over 3/4 up, which I would consider that a high tracker. A few weeks ago i got it reckeched after about 2 years and now I am at what is in my prfile. So I guess i am about average.
I don't know if this does anything but, I am going to go from 3/16 reverse to 0 for/rev on this ball as an experiment. I heard somewhere on here when you start going forward in pitch it lowers your track somewhat? I don't know if this is true. So if it was true it could make the pin to PAP a little closer.
There is a guy that I bowl against that i notice he uses Rico on everything he has, everything is the same only the pin looks to be about 3/4 to 1 inch up from standard position. We have similar revs, and probably track about the same, I like the reaction he gets out of his equipment. Could be a thought.
