PK 17 is one of my favorite covers of all time so usually when I find a cover I like this much I try to get alot of balls with it and play around with them.  I recently ordered 2 Powergroove Sanded Reactives off ebay and I was wondering if anyone has them, what kind of layouts did you go with and how early of a reaction did you see out of them?

I tried 2 Purple/Silver Powergrooves in the past, one 4 1/2 inch to PAP, pin 3 inches above the midline that went 50 feet and jacknifed left.  Then I tried another with the Pin in the thumb(an old Danny Wiseman special) that flared backwards but still gave a sharp recovery much earlier than the first groove.

With 400grit out of box, I'm thinking this thing should read much earlier but still provide some angularity due to core numbers.  What did you guys see out of yours?  I know for sure I'm going to put Rough Buff on one of them out of the box finish and go with a strongish layout to compensate for my high speed, but the other one I'm not quite sure what I want to do with it yet.

Yeah, I did a search first and read that before I posted.  Still looking for more info, especially on layouts and if people layed them out as assymetricals.  I wish you could search more than 30 days.

I think I might go pin under bridge(5" to PAP for me) C.G. swung out at 25degrees with a big hole on my PAP for ultimate smoothness for the dull one then, I love that layout for playing direct on house and sport patterns.  Sound good?

Seached this topic back up again.  What I ended up doing was giving one of the blanks to a teammate and drilling one for myself since I didn't have the need for 2 more condition specific balls in my cluttered lineup so I drilled the other powergroove with a "Rico 1" layout and applied Rough Buff from the 400 grit box surface.  

I am a bit more speed than rev dominate and this thing needs friction to finish.  It'll hook up but if the pattern isn't short enough it's almost the same effect as throwing a houseball straight at the pocket.  No drive!  I'm not disappointed, as in scratch and sport tournaments I see they'll run the condition shorter than longer more often so I'll keep this in my "condition specific" bag in the back of my trunk until I find something where this ball seems to be the best matchup.  I just wanted to try something different so out of the 11 balls I have, I wouldn't have another one that would just be another option to use on the THS.
