Anybody Try This?

I've always had trouble with my thumb. Gets so sore after like 10 games. My driller said the thumbhole I had was funneling a bit and that might have caused it. He fixed it and while it is better feeling, it still does hurt after a number of games. Anyone have the same problem or better yet, a solution to the problem? Would these help out?

It feels like it has been rubbed too much to the point where it feels sore. It's kinda hard to explain. My thumbhole isn't that tight. It's not callouses or blisters I know. I've been bowling for over 3 years and have developed a callouse there due to throwing the ball. Really dont know what it is. This product looked good because it puts another layer between my thumb skin and the insert.

What part of your thumb is sore?  Could be you are gripping the ball too much.  Mine thumb issues were solved by beveling the forward edge of the hole plus that easy-slide teflon tape.

It's the back of the thumb, the non-gripping side.

My dam thumb won't come out clean sometimes. Don't know how to fix it well though.

Kingpin, I used to have a problem like that so I went to a different driller and found out the guy drilling my stuff wasn't doing it correctly for my hand. So, you might want to look into getting a new pitch, maybe some more oval, maybe different beval because if a ball is drilled properly for your hand you shouldn't feel pain after bowling just 10 games in your hand.

PS, that thumb saver reminds me of something that Al Bundy would wear.

Thanks guys, I will talk to my driller. He is very experienced since almost everybody knows him and uses him around my area. I have no doubt about his validity.
