Inferno Core's
« on: December 12, 2007, 01:06:35 PM »
Are there plans at all in the future to reuse the core of the Inferno's at all? A couple of us got talking tonight during league that the Inferno line was just AWSOME and wish the core's were still being used in something. I know that there must be new stuff time to time but was just wondering.

Might pop up in an Elite ball in a few years.

Kyle,

I agree with you that they were good. I got my hands on another Absolute and drilled it yesterday.

You should try the Overseas Express Zone with the Inferno core...it's a monster.  Mine is up for grabs BTW

Sorry to be a no good hijacking troll
Looking for any 14lb Hammers, particularly older oddball stuff.
So if you have a 14lb Faball or Diesel or Vicious or Blade or Hawg laying around shoot me a PM

Chris you are right about the coverstock from what I have used and seen almost any version of the Activator coverstock was great. I did not try any of the Zones with it but have heard nothing but great things about them.

Absolute was the bomb.. just died too quick for alot of people including myself.
If I could get my hands on another one I'd drill it.. but 16# ones in good condition or NIB are few and far between.

And about the Infernos.. I think the Infernos made their name from the coverstock more than the core. The core is just a low rg, high diff (~.050) core.. (besides the modifications they made to some). I personally feel the Inferno coverstock would work on any core with relative numbers to the original core in the Infernos.
A good example is of how good the Classic, Strike, Vapor and Red Zones were. This was I believe was a med rg (may be wrong), med diff, med assym core, and these balls rolled phenominal!!!
I have only had the pleasure of throwing the Classic, but I have 2 of them drilled, and both of my 300's with the Classic Zone.

So overall, coverstock is what made the Infernos to be one of the best lines ever brought out by any company.

I have a 16lb, single right hand drill that I would sell for the right price if you are seriously looking...

The core is still found in some international releases (Zones and recent Red Alerts), and watch out for some overseas Revolution balls - in some of them the Inferno cores popped up, combined with funny coevsrtocks like PK18 solid and pearl.

700, thanks for the offer.. but if you look in my profile, I currently have way too many balls the way it is. I'm drilling a used Total NV and Raging Inferno next week, so yeah.

Maybe once January/February roll around I might post something on here looking for once. So keep a close look for that.

No problem.  PM if you want.  If you post under the Brunswick forum I should see it (don't read many of the others)

That would be a great combo. The Inferno core and PK18, WOW. The few balls I have used with either PK17 or PK18 are sweet. Mabybe some of the reps can relay this info to the powers that be at Brunswick.

I think the ball I mean was/is the "Revolution Rev Speed Checker" - red/black pearl, looks a bit like an Original Inferno, and if I remember correctly here was also a sanded solid counterpart. Both were the last entries in revolutionbowling.com's website before it went down, 2 years ago or so.
