Title: Anyone going with 90 degree drillings on their assymetricals?

Post by: Strider on December 10, 2005, 02:46:02 PM: I did that on my Red Pin Classic Zone. Long and smooth, but that may be a nature of the coverstock on the red pin plus putting the pin at 5.5" from my PAP. No flip no matter how much I torque it. Great for controlling toasted backends.

Post by: Juggernaut on December 10, 2005, 11:46:25 PM: Did this with a lightly polished Impulse zone. Pin under ring, p.s.a. at 90 degrees with an x-hole on the v.a.l.

Ball works great on fresh and really wet/dry's. Likes to have you put a lot of hand in it without it going nuts. Very consistent reaction. I would do it again.

P.S. As a matter of fact, I've been thinking a classic zone set up this way might be good and was thinking about trying that.

My ball hits 10 reads and hooks... i have yet to try it out though, i have a impulse that i may try it on, only problem is it will put a plug in my track.

Haven't done it as they say not to. Put Impulse Zone mb on strong.

Strong stuff.

I have put some weaker mass bias rated balls with mass bias negative...Don't like it! Too long and then bump!

Post by: dizzyfugu on December 13, 2005, 09:40:22 AM: I have a Shock & Awe drilled with the pin above fingers and the MB at 90Â° (next to my thumb hole). Even though it is just Activator+, has a single buff compound finish and the MB is higher/stronger than in the asymmetrical Zones, this position is STRONG. My S&A breaks HARD, much like a SI, after about 35' down the lane. Killer back end. Very edgy. Corner, not arc.
I suppose that a VZ with Rough Buff finish is a touch smoother, but it will certainly turn harder than an AI with tha same setup and show a tremendous back end reaction.
