After just discontinuing the Versa-Max, I wonder why they would issue a replacement. While it seemed so popular on this web site, that is unfortunately no reflection of what sales it generated in the real world. It wasn't the skid/flip monster that 90% of the house pattern bowlers indicate they love and will buy in droves. While it had a strong backend, it followed the Brunswick creed of control, with a ton of carry power.
As most of you know, backend and overall hook is the only gauge that vast majority of bowlers use as a criterion for desirability. Shame. I'd suggest you get one while they're still available. I'd hope Brunswick would market a similar ball in the near future, but since "flip" is what sells, it's likely they will try to do more of that in the next releases.
