Why does all of Brunswick's equipment arc? I've seen a lot of Big B thrown and the only semi-snappy ball they have is the slay/r. Why dont they produce any snappy type of balls, skid/snap balls? Im just curious, and, if they do, what balls do they have that are skid/snappy-ish?

My Ultimate Inferno really snaps violently on a THS. I haven't used it on carrydown yet. I had it drilled to go long and finish strong and it does just that.

I'm under the impression that the Blazing Inferno is a less rolly/arcing type of ball. You may want to check that out. Unfortunately I haven't seen any in person to judge how it reacts on certain lane conditions.

My speed zone and my inferno both do more "snapping" than "arcing". That said, Brunswick is definitely earlier rolling.

BK-you are partially correct in your assessment.  If you look at the majority of the cores, you will find low rg numbers.  Brunswick doesn't make very much equipment with a high rg.  What that means is, the core revs up easily/early and causes more midlane and less snap.  With that said, it doesn't mean you can have a skid/snap ball.  I, too, love my Inferno.  I would consider to be the most skid/snap of any ball I have.  The drilling makes the biggest difference between arc and snap, but of course the coverstock makes a difference too.

The Chrome/Yellow Power Groove is one of the skid-snappiest ball I've ever thrown.  The Blazing Inferno can snap it's fair share, too.

I'm guessing you haven't seen the old Fuze Purple Pearl with a label drilling have you?  With my axis rotation, I can get the thing to basically turn completely right.  I can only use the thing going straight up the back on a lot of carry down.

I'd suggest you rephrase your original statement. Maybe it's more true that the only B'wick ball you've seen snap is the Slay/R.

Many B'wick balls can be made to snap, depending on the oil pattern on which it is used, how it is played, who's throwing it, how it's drilled, etc.

FWIW, I have a SLay/R drilled 5x5, pin under the bridge and it's very smooth. I can't make it skid/snap and I can make many balls snap.

I have a Fuze Ignitor which I had drilled 3.5"x5" and it was very even, no matter what I did to the surface on any pattern. I just re-drilled it with the pin over and centered above the bridge and this sucker snaps as hard as any ball I've ever seen. I had to put it away when I tried it in my PBA Shot league: far too much backend, far too long down the lane.

My Slay/R is also very smooth, drilled almost lefty has alot to do with it.  I had the purple fuze also and it just hooked a ton in the backend, the screamR also was very skid/snap.

Folks,

Forget that a specific ball is a skid/flip ball or a controlled arc ball.
With the right drilling, thrown by the right bowler, on the right oil pattern, ALMOST any skid/flip ball can be made into an arc-ing ball and ALMOST any arc ball can be made into a skid/flip ball.

Please don't be so conservative, so set in your thought patterns.

While you generally do NOT want to convert a skid/flip ball into an arc-ing ball and vice versa, you can ALMOST always do that.

My general overall comment is to use a ball as it is designed to be used. That is the safest path. Do not make unwarranted assumptions.
