I have a 3.5 that is drilled 50 Deg x 5" x 45 Deg that seemed to not finish strong like the many videos that I have seen before. I bowled at a house that has wood lanes on a fresh shot, and the ball seemed to "roll out" or labor to get to the pocket if I get it outside of 10 downlane. My speed is about 16.5 with a high rev rate, and usually play 15 - 22 at the arrows with a breakpoint around 5 - 10. I had my pro shop guy put 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, and polish on my 3.5 which seemed to have more hook when it reached the friction downlane. I haven't used my 3.5 anywhere else yet, and only used it 2 times in a late league at the house with wood lanes. According to Brunswick, the 3.5 needs to have a lot of oil for the ball to work properly. Depending on what part of the lane you normally play, you might want to drill it with a dual angle of 45 Deg x 5" x 70 Deg or 60 Deg x 5" x 30 Deg to get the reaction like the videos on the Brunswick website by playing the middle part of the lane. I would work with you pro shop guy and explain what kind of reaction you would like to get with a 3.5.
