Anyone thrown the AMBUSH enough to critique it yet?
« on: December 17, 2005, 03:38:16 PM »
Am looking to go the light particle route, and the BVP core has been intriguing me for a while, so I was thinking about this, just wanted some feedback on it compared to other light-load particle pearls out there if possible.

I have thrown this ball a couple times now. It is very rolly..

If you have a release up the back of the ball it would probably be a great ball for you. Probably the most forward roll I have seen in a while.

This is a great ball.  It rolls very similar to the old Eliminator, with a little more back end.  Can't beat it for the price.....

IME the Ambush is like a cross between the Fuze Eliminator and the old Plum Power Groove.  Clean in front like the latter, picks up the midlane and back end like the former.

ak, I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

I could also mention that I went back-nine for 270 the first game I threw with the 'Bush, but for your sake, I won't.

The Ambush is the ball I personally have been waiting for.  Its clean thru the heads, rolls well in the midlane and does not jerk off the dry no matter how hard I hit it.  Its definitely my benchmark ball right now.  On the sport shots, its very controllable and on house shots it blends out the dry to give me a more predictable roll.  Had to hit it with a grey scotch though.  Went a little too long out of the box.  I never had any older stuff ie. Fuzes etc. but there is nothing in the current lineup that can compare to the Ambush.

i used mine in league tonight for the first time. my nemesis( wetsanded 4,000 grit abralon ) wasn't quite getting up to the pocket the first game so i switched to the ambush and shot 258( solid 7, ringing 10 ) and 238 ( solid 8, solid 9, ringing 10 ). surprisingly good length and great roll. this isn't an "instant hook" particle ball.

Ambush = Ricochet Rebound

this ball is sick

so clean through the heads with a predictable midlane grab and a powerful backend,  also depends how you drill it

but honestly this ball is money... i have mine box finish with the pin below my bridge and cg stacked right below

in my eyes the best BVP ball yet... keep em comin

oh and can anyone say.. Scorchin' Inferno W/ Activator Max... cuz i think thats what the bowling this month ad implied :-D  CANT WAIT!!!!

I don't have this ball yet but i've got the nemesis and rampage, and they are great balls. Besides look at the price. I think this ball is worth a try.

i used mine again in league tonight. same results---the nemesis wasn't quite strong enough but the ambush was just right....237( spares were solid taps ), 213( bowler errors ), 259( spares were solid taps ). as i said before this is not an "instant hook" particle ball. the skid through the front never fails to surprise me. yet the backend is more than i anticipated.

I threw my ambush for the first time last night. I didnt start throwing it till the tenth frame of my first game,  we had already won so I thought what the hell.  I threw two bombs and then left a solid nine.  I had the first 6 of 7 strikes and 9 of 11 strikes among the end of the first into the second game.  If my speed was any where in the 16mph range in the last game I was striking no matter where I put the ball on the lane.  It glides through the heads and doesnt over react on the dry boards like anything reactive would excellent ball so far and I will keep you posted.
