Melee Cross is a hidden gem
« on: January 22, 2015, 03:32:04 AM »
Last night was a perfect combination of a bowler who fixed his timing issue, and fantastic ball reaction and carry.  The Cross carried 31 strikes and helped me shoot 300 and 803!  I even carried a Brooklyn once, and tripped a 2 pin strike on another!  Some balls are just "bowler friendly".

People keep asking "is that a teal Rhino?"  The color on mine is a very close match.
It's just another great ball in a great lineup from Big B!!

Congratulations on striking 31 times and shooting 8-bills.

I agree that the Melee Cross is a gem of a ball. I thought the Meanstreak Beatdown, which the Melee Cross replaced, was equally a hidden gem, so much that I own three. Now I'm tempted to get at least one, maybe two more of the Melee Cross. This ball reminds me of a Ringer Solid but much stronger -- four to five boards on the approach.

Thanks Spencer.  Our house shot is slick enough that I have to play straight up the outside (7-8 board).  A solid reactive that allows me to play out there and still carries well is a winner in my book.

Great bowling!! All of the Melee's I have loved. You could build a pretty solid arsenal with those three balls.

Agreed!
The Jab has been an instant favorite, but on a hunch I went with the Cross and now it's gonna be difficult to put it down!  Thanks Adam.

The Cross is a great sleeper ball.  Very versatile.  Dull it can handle pretty heavy volumes and polished it has enough length to open them up pretty easily.  It doesn't hook too early which means you can chase it left but it's not too jumpy which gives it control.

Definitely one of my favorites and usually the first ball out of my bag!

I too love my Melee Cross  :) Have been using it as 1st ball out of my bag in 2 of my leagues with great success. 3rd league is heavy oil very flat and nothing I have is working. Have a Radical Guru to drill and hope this does the trick.

Bowled a 9 pin no tap tournament on this past Sunday and WON. Used the Cross all seven games. Cut the field to 16 after 3 games then blind draw head to head till 2 bowlers and then the winner. (My 3rd game was 300 with 4) 9 pin strikes)

Love my Melee Cross  :)

Nice job, captzap!  I've used mine shiny, dull, whatever, and it seems to be great whatever I do with it.
