« on: January 17, 2009, 05:52:34 PM »
so i just moved up from 14 to 15 and i have to get some new equipment. lucky for me, i have a lot of friends who have a bunch of stuff laying around that they don't use anymore and i was wondering if this sounds like a good set up. going to be bowling a lot of tournaments soon as well and just wanted to make sure i got everything i would need. thanks!

BVP Rampage
Vapor Zone
Blast Zone
Ultimate Inferno

It looks like you're off to a good start, assuming that you match up surfaces to the lane conditions you'll be seeing.

awesome. no money out of my pocket then! hahaha free arsenal is what i like. going to test them all today and play around with the surfaces. was thinking about leaving the rampage and vapor polished and the blast zone and ultimate inferno dull. the ultimate i was thinking about sanding it REALLY dull for those times i hit a lot of oil, but is almost never. ill take some pictures once i figure everything out and post another topic to see if it looks good. thanks again.

Personally, I would trade in either the Blast or the Ultimate for an Avalanche Solid to give you a lighter oil option than what the Rampage covers (which is still a fairly powerful ball), but that's me.

YMMV. I have more options on the light oil side of things than heavy because that's what I see more and I'm a tad rev dominant. The only true oiler I have is an Awesome Revs I sanded to 500 abralon, but I carry a Dry/R and Punisher everywhere.

Second that, too. You will probably hardly need two oil balls at the same time, but a ball below the Rampage makes much sense. Besides an AvS, you might also check out a simple Power Groove.

ok so i guess i will trade the ultimate for something dryer since i love the reaction i get from my blast zone. so would a avalanche pearl, slide, or power groove be the better decision then?
