Cleaning of the Fury
« on: July 06, 2007, 02:23:14 AM »
Hi I just brought a Fury and am really impressed with the reaction I am getting from this ball. One of the best from Big B by far.
But I also heard that this ball actually suck up oil real fast. Am actually wondering if it is true...I normally will clean my bowling balls with Clean and tacky after every practice and league session, will this be good enough to maintain this ball reaction ? Please advice...thanks

I use 50/50 Simple Green mix on every ball I own.  I do use a spinner, too.

Clean and Tacky is better than any other cleaner out there, stronger at least and designed specifically for bowling balls. If it doesn't work, then there's somehting wrong with the bowling ball or your method of cleaning.

The ball will still absorb oil and its performance will still decrease over time, depending on the amount of oil on which you bowl, how rough the ball surface is and how much you rev the ball. It's up to you to keep an eye on its performance: amount of hook, hitting power, etc. When it decreases to a certain point, the ball must be treated to restore its performance. And you have to recognize when the performance decrease is due to too little oil on the lanes and not the ball's oil absorption.

If all of a sudden the ball seems dead, you haven't been watching ...

After every like 40 games, give it a hot water and soap bath. That will bring it back to close to new.
