arsenal help
« on: May 02, 2014, 04:38:09 PM »
So I am looking to add in one or two more pieces beforewe start some of our local tournaments.  Here is what I have so far.

Mastermind Genius (medium to heavy)
Melee (medium/benchmark)
Ringer platinum (lighter)
Strike King (Sahara desert)

I don't need a heavy oil ball yet because we don't every get that much oil here ill tackle that when I have to.  I think I should be fine with what I have but I was wondering if having the Grease monkey would double already what I have or if that would supplement between the melee and the ringer.  I hear a lot of good things about Radical balls so I wanted to add one in from there.  I was looking at the Grease monkey for when I want a different look then the melee and Yeti untamed or Reax 2 pearl when I want something a little weaker then the mastermind genius but stronger then the melee.  Just wanted to see what people though of those.  Didn't know if I should post in the radical forum or here. Thanks!

ps of maybe some dv8 options would be better?  Like the dude/diva?

The first problem I see is there is no Solid cover with surface. Everything is shiny, and for a tournament arsenal you should always have dull ball to help control the lane. Some patterns are so jerky off the spot with polish that you need surface to slow the ball down sooner and slow the response time down.

If you don't want anything stronger than what you have, then I would get the new Ringer Solid that is being released on 5/7. I would drill it on the stronger side.  This will help slow the response time down and you will be able to use it on a lot of patterns to control the friction.

I agree with Adam that you should have a solid cover that you can put some surface on it, like the blue ringer. The Diva would be a good choice because it has a stronger midlane roll and you can adjust the surface as needed. Even with a stronger drilling, the Dude would have a similar reaction to the Melee. In the Radical Line, I would think that the Grease Monkey would be similar to your Mastermind Genius. I would think that a Yeti Untamed would work above the Melee and below the Mastermind Genius plus give you a solid cover.

Thank you Adam!  I guess I was thinking about something stronger then the Melee.

I will take your advice!  I like the yeti untamed and may be going that way.  Thank you very much!
