Aura Surface changes
« on: December 20, 2012, 10:14:15 AM »
Has anyone altered the surface of their Aura's. What did you do? What was your intent? What was your result? Looking for ideas on what to do with mine. Thanks for the help. Happy Holidays.

To be honest, i would like to be able to use it more often. I have a pin down mb 2in to right of thumb with low hole. At my home house I'm lucky if i can get 2games out of it. I like the reaction shape, and finish thru the pins. Just not the amount of time before I have to put it away. Just looking for ideas. Thanks Lane

It's finished with 500, then Rough Buff.  I'd add a little polish over the top to give it still more length before it takes off.

Let me know if that's still too strong, but I suspect it should work for you.  Keep me posted...

Thanks Lane,
Yesterday i took it down to 500 and then 2000 and shined it up with some rough buff. Still too much, I'm rev dominate and there just isn't enough oil in my home house. Thank god for my Versa and Mean Streak.  I like the Aura, just another case of too much ball for the house shot. Thanks for the help.

Try some polish over the Rough Buff. It may surprise you.

I agree with lane. I have a little polish over the rough buff on one of mine. Just a little extra legnth but does extend the usability.

I would try going to 1500-2000 with no polish and throw it about 5-6 shots before lining up to wear the initial teeth off it. It sounds like you just need the ball to slow down. At school for our demo day with them, we threw them out of box and with 1000 on it. The 1000 slowed the ball down enough that it allowed me to mover right and play straighter. On house, the ball with box or more polish actually hooks more since it stores so much energy.

Hope this helps
