Title: Avalanche Slide question
Post by: Spit_Fire on November 18, 2008, 06:32:06 AM
I want to drill an avalanche slide up for dryer lanes, but my number one drilling is pin under ring, this drill seems to work the best for me. My question is would this be the right thing to do for this ball and the reaction I want. My axis is 5 9/16 over 1/2 up. I hear to drill this ball strong.

The diff on this ball is only .020. If you put the pin under your ring it probably won't flare at all and you'll need a flare increasing hole to get the ball to be continuous through the pins. My PAP isn't as far over as yours but I drilled mine this way and I needed a hole to separate the rings. It rolls much better now. So you can drill it your favorite way and add a hole if you need it,  or you can drill it stronger so you don't need the hole to create ring separation.
