Title: Avalanche solid and the Monster Bruiser

I know the Avalanche has a light bulb core and the Bruiser has the mushroom core, how do they compare to each other. I liked the Bruiser a lot. It just had a simple label drill on it and it worked well on the house shot. I know they both have the powerkoil 18 cover on them. Give me your opinions. Thanks

Thanks Brunsrico. Anything with as strong a core as the Bruiser with the Powercoil 18 cover on it in the Brunswick line? Thanks

Bruiser is the overall stronger ball. It does not only have much more flare potential, compared to the AS, but also a lower RG core. A polished or Rough Buff surface Wizard might come close to the Bruiser, but the BVP core still has a higher RG and will be a tad less "rolly" than the Bruiser.

If you want a really juiced-up alternative, check out MoRich's Awesome Finish. Also polished PK18, but coupled with a core from hell that makes a true high performance piece for medium conditions out of it. IMHO good for the same conditiosn as the Bruiser, but with much more juice overall.

Thanks, Dizzyfugu. I read that the awesome finish was powercoil 18. I just thought that it would be a bit much on the condition I wanted the ball for. I'll check it out. Thank you all for your opinions.

Be careful with the MO and make SURE you drill it for EXACTLY what you want, otherwise you will have a turd on your hands.  I can't tell you how many pissed off customers we had with that ball.  It was an awesome piece for me, but I wasn't affraid to go coast to coast with it, those with less speed/hand were struggling to make it work on a house shot.  Personally I thought it was sick, just drill it for what YOU want, not what the driller thinks, pick it off the sheet, match to your game and expect to get that.

As an alternative, check out the new Solid LevRG on MoRich's website - also a PK18 solid ball, but with a more "harmless" core than the Awesome Finish - by the core numbers and OOB finish easier to handle, and less violent at the break point. Probably still very strong, but IMHO closer to the Bruiser than the AFi.

Thanks again. I just got a look at the solid blue Levrg this weekend. I'll have to do a little homework on it. I like Mo's stuff. Just threw a 289 with a WMB. Thanks for all your opinions.
