C-system 4.5 question
« on: November 13, 2010, 09:29:35 AM »
is there any difference between the international C-system 4.5 INT and the regular C-system 4.5 other than color?  Any insight is much appreciated. Thank you.

The 4.5 INT has an asymmetrical core with high gloss polish, and the 4.5 has a symmetrical core with rough buff.  The different core shape makes the 2 balls different.  The 4.5 is made for when the lanes break down, and works best when you need a ball that clears the heads.  The 4.5 INT has an RG of 4.4, and the 4.5 has an RG of 5.5 which means that the 4.5 INT will be a little bit of a stronger ball than the 4.5.

Quote from the Brunswick website:

With its High Gloss finish, the C•(System) 4.5 INT will off er a lower friction factor than the C•(System) v4.5, with response time to friction similar to the C•(System) 3.5. The new C•(System) 4.5 INT is best used on medium to medium-oily lane conditions when you need to use a breakpoint further down the lane with a quick response motion to increase pin carry.

The RG of the C-S 4.5:
 RG max: 2.608
- RG min: 2.555
- RG diff: 0.053
Quote:
The 4.5 INT has an RG of 4.4, and the 4.5 has an RG of 5.5 which means that the 4.5 INT will be a little bit of a stronger ball than the 4.5. What Brunswick says is it''s the average RG is 5.5 out of 10 and 4.4 out of 10. The actual RG min. is 2.555 for the C-S 4.5.
Specs for the 4.5 Int:
Core TypeI-BlockCoverstockChemical Friction TechnologyFinishing StepsHigh-Gloss PolishWeights12-16 pounds PoundsRG Max2.570 RG Min2.520 RG Differential.060 RG AverageCenter Heavy (1)
4.4 Cover Heavy (10) Hook PotentialLow (10)
165 High (175) LengthEarly (25)
105 Long (235) Breakpoint ShapeSmooth Arc (10)
95 Angular (100)
The coverstock on the 4.5 Int is lower friction than the 3.5 so it''s cleaner thru the heads like the 4.5 and it has a lower RG and higher Diff.!

i just drilled a 4.5, and i really do not think it clears the heads as well as some of said, but thats my bowling style...whats best about the 4.5 is that even though it revs up a little earlier than what i have read or seen in videos is that it doesnt jump off the dry, its extremely playable from many different lines, even when the heads are gone.

definitely a winning piece for me
