... and went 750 exactly instead. Fell off at the end and opened once -- the left lane started hooking like crazy, even though I kept making three-four board adjustments. I went 258, 279, 213... had 13 in a row at one point... and the 258 was just the result of two brutal ringing 10s.
This isn't supposed to be a FIGJAM, though. Honestly, I didn't close the deal -- but the Rattler gave me a look I could have shot 800+ with. Mine is drilled with a modified Rico layout (BJI test ball) and was left OOB. Provides a smooth, controllable motion, with plenty of midlane, but just enough angularity to consistently carry and play deep inside angles. Of course, it helps to have area on the lane, but this ball is going to be a winner (like a cheaper version of an Inferno-line ball) that gets the job done on a variety of lane conditions. Not saying it's the ball of the year just yet, or saying "omg, you have to buy, it hooks so much!" -- just saying it's a good, versatile ball.
On a side, unrelated note, I also think the new Wild Ride is a winner... but I have yet to see the awesome angularity the ball is "supposed" to have. The Rattler, in my experience, is more angular, and balls like Storm's Gravity Shift and the Legends Black Pearl Reactive are DEFINITELY more angular. That being said, the Wild Ride's length and controllable downlane motion has allowed me to play well on some more difficult patterns. A good player - and I mean a good bowler, here, not a house hack that wants to see the ball hook a ton -- should be able to score very well with the new high-end piece.
