Ball for new lane conditions
« on: September 22, 2008, 05:48:32 PM »
The house I bowl in just got a new Kegel Kustodian ION – Cordless Sanction Lane Machine. They are laying the pattern down to 40 feet. This is much greater oil than the old pattern and machine put down. I bowled on this Sunday night and found that I had to move 5 boards left on the approach (15 board) and shoot the 10 board. Normally I had been 20 and 10. Both my RED Zone (2000 Abralon) and Blast Zone (500 Abralon) were very touchy. Miss a board or 2 to the right and hit light or washout. Would a Sidewinder help with this type of condition? Any other Big B recommendations?

I'd rather wait some weeks - esp. if you thing the Blast Zone at 500 does not work at all. Could be that the buffed areas of the oil pattern are a bit soupy, if they use a THS pattern.
If the lane machine is new, it might take some time for the crew to tune it well for the local lanes. I had this case in 2 local houses - they were VERY slick in the beginning, but after 3 weeks they had control and the lanes became playable again.
