Ball Question
« on: December 22, 2006, 10:24:09 AM »
We are planning on sending our son to the WSU SHOCKER BOWLING CAMP this summer. Reading the form, we have a chance for him to pick up a current Brunswick bowling ball.

My question is, WHAT BALL WOULD BE GOOD FOR HIM?

He is probably a TWEENER with decent speed, rt handed, stands 21 and shoots 10. At this time he is throwing a BVP RAMPAGE and loves the ball. I just do not want to buy him the same ball that he already has. So what else should I be looking at for him? I need 2 choices, so I can let them know what my first and second choices are...

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE & PYRO. STAND 22 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND CRUSH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!

I realize that the WIZARD is a heck of a ball. But looking at the BRUNSWICK site, it lists both the RAMPAGE and WIZARD as medium oil balls. I really think by the time he goes to this camp, it will be time to replace the RAMPAGE. SO if he gets the WIZARD, what other ball would we be looking at?

shouldnt need to replace, just rejuventate with a pro-shop oven, resurface, polish.

and both may be medium oil balls but:

Rampage Med-Light Oil (Box Finish) Skid/Snap Ball
Wizard Medium-Heavy Oil (Box Finish) Arcing Heavy Roll Ball

they may be 2 medium oil balls, but will cover many different conditions.

The Wizard should be significantly stronger than the Rampage.

As long as you leave the Wizard with a dull surface, it should be about a full arrow stronger than the Rampage even with similar layouts.
