avalanche pearl
« on: October 26, 2008, 07:57:04 AM »
i just got one and i was wondering how to drill it to go under my twisted fury pearl. I looked at Brunswick website but they didn't have a layout sheet. I know its a retro core but where do i find an old drill sheet for the core. i know i want something above the fingers but not sure any suggests are helpful.

I have a rico drill on mine with a 2 inch pin for control and ill tell you what when they start hooking i am able to go right and open up the lane. very tame on back very controlable i have a tweener style this would go well under the twisted fury. also forgot took the surface too 1000 then added brunswick high gloss polish hope this helps

imo it works amazing like this..
pin is way up there, the cg you can't really see unless you look close but it's a little bit below the ring. pretty much exactly below the flash on the ball.

i bought mine used wth the rico drill and i was hesitant but after throwing it  when the heads fry this is my go to ball.  it will give you a great look to play down and in whichever way you drill it good luck

I drilled mine strong, 4x4 pin down and hit the surface with 4000 abralon and it gives me a very contollable reaction. It does need dry to throw to and it will not carry if it is in the oil too long. See my profile for my stats.

i bought the avalanche pearl to be used as my.....drier lanes ball. i had the pin placed over my fingers and the cg in the center of my grip. i had the ball smoothed up to 4,000 abralon and had several coats of rough buff and polish applied. with a low differential and such a smooth surface it's exactly what i was looking for on drier lanes.
