since i'm not going to bowl regionals anymore due to all the costs involved i decided to use a smaller arsenal for the upcoming season of leagues and local tournaments. i've selected the following balls:
brunswick copperhead.....this will be my heavy oil ball. it will probably be drilled 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 with a big hole down in the right thumb quadrant. it will be wetsanded 800 grit with the sanding lines finished to ensure "bite" all the way down the lane.
brunswick swarm.....this will be my medium condition ball. it too will probably be drilled 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 with a hole down near the right thumb quadrant. the surface could be left at 4,000 abralon or wetsanded coarser and polished( we'll see ). the final sanding will have the sanding lines running parallel with my track to increase the backend reaction.
brunswick avalanche pearl.....this will be my drier lanes ball. it will be drilled with the pin over the fingers and the cg in the center of my grip. no hole will be needed. it will be finished with 4,000 abralon and the sanding lines will go against my track to tone down the backend reaction. this ball will also receive several coats of rough buff and finally several coats of brunswicks polish.
i'll also have my 360 abralon finished brunswick bvp mammoth for very oily lanes and my trusty t-zone plastic ball. i'll post my thoughts and opinions on the new balls in the future.
