Ric,

With the same layouts on each ball, on a THS (for the typical league bowlers sake), how would you characterize the differences of ball roll and backend reaction?  What are they designed to do in comparison to one another?

EX:  Lets say a tweener style on a 38 foot THS layed out both balls with a 4 1/2 stacked drilling with their OOB surface prep.  What difference will you see between these two balls?

Why do people ask questions they should already know the answer to?  Anyway, I keep it simple so that EVERYONE can understand.  There are people who come on here that don't know more advanced terminology.  If a person has only bowled for a very short amount of time, they are not going to know what "Brunswick Drilling #1" means.  They are not going to know what a "4 1/2 by 45 degrees with a flare increasing weight hole" is.  I try to keep it simple so that the beginner to novice bowler can understand the terminology.

Not even close. Twisted will handle more oil and react quicker to friction.

FWIW, I got the opportunity to throw my Twisted side-by-side with my Zone Classic last night.  The Classic is drilled with the pin 4 1/2" from the PAP, slightly above the fingers, and a 75-degree LL angle.  The Twisted has the pin 4 3/4" from PAP, with a 45-degree LL angle.  Both balls are in box finish.  I used the two on a freshly stripped and oiled house shot.

The Classic started up several feet sooner than the Twisted, and went into a moderate arc at the break.  In contrast, the Twisted looked much cleaner in front, but when it turned over, it had a harder arc (not quite a flip).  While I had a good look with the Classic, I felt that the Twisted did a better job of opening up the lane;  it seemed to handle the oil better than the Classic, even as the oil pushed down the lane.  The Twisted was about three or four boards stronger overall.

Rich, I had a question regarding the rico layout.  Is that layout along the lines of a more rolling orientated drilling?  All my stuff is drilled skid snap, so I want to see how your layout will affect these balls.

From a skid snap layout to a Rico layout, what differences would I see?
