Title: Brunswick Nation: Vote for Product Video
Post by: MegaMav on February 09, 2007, 08:37:42 AM
I just recieved my Canon ZR600 today, and purchased a tripod.
I'd like to send a thanks to BrunsNick, and all the camcorder guys on the Bowling - Non-Miscellaneous board, for helping me find a great deal on a camcorder.

So, I'll start filming products you guys vote on.
I'll be assembling a list, and putting it up on surverymonkey.com

First 100 entries only.

thewatcher: That was uncalled for. Put yourself out on video, and maybe you'll be a little more generous to others.

I voted for the Original Inferno. I know a lot of bowlers who throw it, so it will be interesting to see how it works in your hands.

thewatcher....i don't think the rest of on here care whether or not you wanna see him throw the shots.  He's going to be the one making the video.  I seem to remember him asking what ball to tape.

Sales Pitch:

I want to be the Anti-Nick, I'm not at all saying that what Nick does is better or worse than what I do on the lanes. (hes mostly better)
The way Nick and I approach reaction, its a different look.

I'd like to represent the other half of the bowling community, medium revs and medium-low speed (15MPH @ Pins). People that like the ball to set and drive to the pocket.

I'm not going to rip the cover off the ball, but I will let it read the lanes well.

I'd like to give the other half of the bowling community a fair comparison of bowling balls, displaying a reaction more like what they're accustomed to.

The goal here is to give a different look, end of story.
This is a pilot video, if it goes over well, there will be more to come!
Thanks to all who have voted so far!

hmm....i cant get the link to work for me.

I have a somewhat good idea for videos, but i think it would be pretty hard to do.

My main issue with most bowling vids out there are, they dont really have an "average" bowler bowling.  Meaning, average speed, average revs, but accurate enough to show what the ball really does.

My idea is to have 3 or 4 different bowlers, with COMPLETELY different styles, drill a ball the same(same pin to pap for each bowler) & then go ahead & bowl.  That way the public can look at the 4 bowlers & pick the 1 closest to their style.

While this sounds great in theory, u have to look at the fact that 4 bowlers with different styles probably dont want to drill a ball the same, so the person making the video would probably have to pay for all 4 balls.    I just dont see this happening by someone like u or brunsnick.  But i sure wish the ball companies would do this, they give out enough free balls, 4 more shouldnt be an issue.

Voted for the OI as well, I have an OI myself but never really got a good read on the ball. I also have med. revs and speed between 15-16. I couldn't figure out the ball, and would love to see how and what others do with it.
