Ball Junkie *punisher, classic*
« on: February 03, 2005, 03:51:46 PM »
So, i want another ball to complement my Impulse Zone. Wondering what the nacions opinions were on these balls.

Im thinking something with more length, my 2 choices are the cz and the punisher.  I love my Impulse so much that im leaning towards the CZ but then again im very cheap.  Any one have any experience with the punisher? It says that its good for conditions where the heads start to break down, which would be a perfect second ball to my impulse, no?

As far as my arsenal or "ball buying frenzy" as i call it.  Listed in order from strongest to the weakest. Want something that wont over lap and that i could find multiple uses for or use and get rid of one of the other two balls.

Impulse zone
Hot rod prostock
Recharge

1. To have an arsenal, you need a small degree of overlap going from one ball to another. Otherwise, you have gaps.

2. The Punisher will probably handle a bit less oil than the Recharge as the Recharge has a stronger coverstock. But the overlap will be large, unless you have a very strong drilling on the Recharge or have modified its surface. So I would not personally be inclined to get a Punisher, if I were you.

The Classic Zone can be drilled to overlap both the Impulse Zone and the Hot Rod Pro Stock (a surprisingly strong reacting ball, again, unless you drilled it radically). I think this is a good thing. The Classic Zone's I have seen locally (A LOT!) really are great at opening up a shot, especially when there's little danger of carrydown (that's when the Impulse comes in, which is more of a hard hitting control ball for medium-heavy oil).

While you may not need a Classic Zone, if you want one and can afford,I think it might  be an interesting addition and you might even be shocked at its power at the pins. That Activator cover is a wonder.

The recharge is drilled pin above bridge wiht the cg slightly kicked out, it should be a low flare layout because of the pin to PAP distance, correct. pin =2-3in

The HRPS drilled pretty weak, cg kicked out slightly and the pin to the right of the ring finger.  For me its a very strong ball depending on the ammount of oil. The HRPS is a good complement to the impulse, but im leaning to the CZ because i seem to be bowling very well with the assemetric impulse zone, and i get a very predictable reaction from it every time.

Impulse is drilled with the pin and cg kicked out and the bomb 3-4 inches from the thumb and a small weight hole adjacent to grip line center.

I think im just gonna get the CZ and just use the impulse and classic exclusively as a 1-2 leauge punch, and then use my other 2 balls for house shots and mixed leauges.

Thanks for the help guys.
