I picked up a new Blast Zone for a pretty good deal, 14lb -2 0z with a 3-4 inch pin. Originally I was going to have this drilled with the pin above ring at 4 inch from PAP. My PAP is 5 inches over and 1/2 inch up. I am lower to medium revs, about 15mph. Just to give you an idea, with my Strike Zone on a fresh shot, I stand with right foot on 20 and target around 10 to 12 at arrows, and use 7 board for a breakpoint at about 40 feet.
My question is how to drill Blast Zone to be stronger ball than Strike Zone for my style. I can use Strike Zone (at 1000 grit no polish) for a fresh shot and stay with it a while. You can look at my profile for drilling specs. But on a really heavy shot that they are putting down at another house I would like to bowl at, the Strike Zone will skid hitting the pins if I throw at 13 mph. It is really heavy. Even if I increase the revs it is just too much oil for this ball. Since it works great at the other place I bowl I want to leave the Strike Zone as is. If I slow the Strike Zone down too much it almost will have too much backend.
So I would like to drill the Blast Zone to handle a little heavier shot. I need this drilling to early rolling and strong in midlane but without too much backend, so it doesn't leave bad splits.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
