In theory, wouldn't the core in the Scorchin' be "rollier" by nature than the core in the Big One? Therefore, generally, wouldn't the Scorchin', with the same layout, same surface prep, be generally "rollier" than the Big One? However, if you want to talk overall hook, I would venture to say that at the same grit (lets say 1000 grit abralon, just for kicks) the Big One MIGHT hook more than the Scorchin', just from how strong everybody says the GB 11.2 cover is...IIRC, the Scorchin' comes in at 600 grit, the Big One at 4000, big difference. All things considered, I again, generally, would say the Scorchin' would be "rollier" (though from what i've seen it does clear the heads quite nicely) whereas the Big One would probably make a bigger move on the backend.
--Disclaimer--
I have not thrown the Scorchin' Inferno, I have only thrown the Big One. I have thrown a LOT of Ebonite gear in the last year and a half and only a sparce number of Big B balls, therefore it is possible that my opinion may be biased. However, I do drill at a shop with a Hammer staffer, and we sell a lot of Brunswick gear (especially the Vapor Zones) and a lot of Ebonite gear (Ones, Big Times, Ices, etc.) so I try to keep my opinions as unbiased as I can. Also, though I have thrown the big one, i've got less than 10 games on it so I definitely can NOT give a thorough review of the ball. I doubt I will be drilling a Scorchin' because I do have some balls that are stronger than the Big One (all particle) and wouldn't have a need for the Scorchin'. I think i've covered all bases, I'm done for now
