BK...(or anyone else)
« on: March 13, 2005, 11:32:51 AM »
I currently Have a Classic Zone drilled Pin under ring CG out small x-hole. It is Kinda tracked up and it tends to jump alot because of this. I was wondering if the Absolute would be a good replacement for this? maybe with the same drilling? What difference will I notice on medium-light conditions.

just resurface it. good as new. If your looking to buy a new ball though, the absolute is NOT a good replacement. It is suited for medium/heavy oil, not medium dry. Plus, the AI doesn't really snap the like the CZ. Let me ask you this though, what type of reaction are you getting, skid snap?

go with a punisher for medium light i have an absolute inferno at 2000 this ball is way to strong for lighter patterns. In fact have classic zone too puisher is a step down absolute big step up reaction wise in box the ball is heavier mediums, i polished it and it was too over under it is more useable to me at 2000 fine no polish.

That was going to be my suggestion for a skid/snap ball. Although a chrome yellow power groove would sit nicely there to, if you have enough revs for it.

Utility
Out of the box: The Absolute Inferno is an ideal ball for medium-dry to medium-oily lane conditions.
When shined: Using Brunswick’s Factory Finish High Gloss Polish the total hooking action of the Absolute Inferno can be reduced and the arc made more skid/snap.
When dulled: The hooking action of the Absolute Inferno will increase providing a better match-up for oily lane conditions.

Jim, they say that about a lot of their reactive stuff.  Their info isn't a real guide.  You'd have to drill it weak, polish that sucker up and not have much hand if you want it for lighter patterns.  Punisher would be better.  But neither will replace the zone, which you should try resurfacing.

BK with my classic I get a very strong rolling reaction to the pocket. This ball always finishes. It is drilled really weak but it rolls like nick's absolute.

well you gotta realize, nick has a lot more revs then you, and more then most people so thats not a good comparison. Plus it also has a lot to do with drill pattern and oil. Its not really meant to be skid/snap the like the CZ is. I still think you should just resurface it, but if your insisting on a new ball the punisher is the CLOSEST. (not all that close, but the closest)

No offense to you BK. (I am a very defensive person). I bowl alot like nick does naturally. I have alot of rev's with moderate speed. When I get my camera I will post some vids.

Ok, I'm just saying what I think is right. (I'm not right half the time anyways but whatever) Plus, if you have a lot of revs, even with the absolute polished it wont be the best for lighter stuff.

I know I was looking for opinions. I appreciate your input. I drill all my equipment to be very strong rolling instead of skid/snap.
