Rough Buff

I understand Rough Buff is a compound brunswick uses for their equipment.  Does anyone know what grit it is?  Also does Rough Buff apply polish to the ball with that grit?

Thanks

Burgandy, green and grey pad, abralon pad set 500,1k,2k,4k a few of each, brunswick rough buff and high gloss add spinner and you are now a coverstock guru.

So a gritless polish, a compound finish, and a bunch of different grits of abrasive pads?  You mean that pretty much covers the spectrum?

Really, how many other finishes can you make?

Shelley,

While RB is not really a polish, adding a true abrasive-containing polish, such as Storm's Xtra Shine, and a really hard abrasive like Trizact, would virtually complete mrbowlingnut's (Barry's) arsenal of coverstock adjustments kit. Those, plus patience, cleaning rags and fluids and a spinner, will give you almost every surface known to man, err, woman, ... err, ... bowler-kind.

While I like to use some other polishes and "adjusting" liquids and materials, just to be different and for testing, by and large, that is all that is essential.

How you apply them is another matter.

What do you do with rags that are full of cleaners and polishes?  I've got a rag that I've been using for the rubbing compound and I don't know whether to throw it in the laundry or toss it.

Except for paper towels, I wash all mine. You might consider puttign some liquid soap on it for a day prior to washing it, if it's really soaked. Also do a double rinse cycle to insure all the grit gets thoroughly washed away.

I bought mine from Innovative Bowling a few years ago.

DO some Internet searches. I found some pads a while back for a fairly inexpensive price. Don't recall where exactly.

This place, Bowler's Discount Supply,
http://www.bowlersdiscountsales.com/store/page32.html
also has them listed.
