blazing inferno

i'm in a bowling league on saturday nights and a friend let me try out one of his old bowling balls, a blazing inferno. i threw a 213 in a practice game with this ball. but when i got into league play, it threw three games of 155, 174, and a 197. do you think i should keep this ball or go to another ball?

This is a sweet ball, but if you want the best backend reaction you will ever see then go with an Intense Inferno. I use mine on med/heavy oil, works great on sport/pba patterns as well. At least for me it does.

Use it again and if you still like the reaction and your scoring with it, then buy it from him.

We can't say if it will be good for you. Only you can determine that. Are those scores better than you normally get? If so, then a 2nd session should convince you one way or the other.

The practice game conditions could have been alot different than league conditions. You might find it will work best on a certain shot/condition, and use it for that.

If it fills a void in your arsenal that you don't already have, it might be great.

You bowl faster and more relaxed in practice than in league. It can make a huge difference. Normally it is suggested that during practice, you do not keep score or you ignore. You practice execution of different things, including many basics like hitting your target. You know what you did during your practice so you know how valuable it is. in fact, while it's nice for the ego, even 300s in practie mean virtually nothing. They distract you from what you're trying to accomplish.

If you're a 161 average, the Blazing Inferno is a great ball to learn with.  You don't need more than one ball when you're starting out, so just use that one and get comfortable with what you're doing.

The Blazing is a low diff inferno compared to the rest. It'll be better for drier conditions or when you need more control.
