Bottom of Arsenal
« on: July 19, 2016, 07:33:51 PM »
The bottom of my arsenal is currently a Brute Strength followed by a Tropical Breeze and a spare ball.

I am thinking of adding either a Rhino or a Freakshow, I'm thinking the freakshow may be too close to the brute strength but the Rhino might not fully fill the gap between the Brute Strength and Breeze.

Thoughts?

Do you feel like you need something in between the Brute Strength and Breeze?

My Brute Strength is my benchmark ball right now on my house shot, I ball down to a Rhino and ball up to a Storm Fight.

There's definitely separation between the Brute Strength and Rhino, however, I'm not sure if there's much separation between the Rhino and Breeze

I find I need to make a pretty big move in order to go from the Brute Strength to the Breeze. The breeze is a rather old ball i picked up used to cover complete burn. With the cost of the Rhino or Freakshow I think it may blend the bottom part of the arsenal better, I'm thinking the Freakshow may be a better in between ball between those 2. A rhino may make the Breeze redundant with a slight move.

I think the Freak Show based on early reviews and videos would be similar strength to the Brute Strength if not a little stronger.

If the Breeze is really used it could potentially be even weaker than a new Breeze. I'd definitely look at the Rhino or Radical Rack Attack Pearl

It has been said on this site that the Freakshow is DV8's Melee Jab, only 1-2 boards weaker. Based on the Brunswick site, the Brute Strength is stronger than the Jab. It also looks like it is stronger than the new Fanatic. I have the Radical Jackpot and asked if the Freakshow would fit nicely between it and a Rhino Pearl. I was told it would. The Jackpot and Fanatic should be fairly similar - meaning a little weaker than the Brute Strength.

So it appears to me that the Freakshow would be your best bet. I also own a Tropical Breeze and I'd say the Rhino Pearl is pretty similar to that. I watched the Lane Side Reviews video yesterday and it looked pretty tame. They did put an odd drilling on it though. But it still looks like a good fit between a benchmark and a light oil ball.

Just my 2 cents.  The differential on the Rhino is TRIPLE that of the "old" Breeze.  My thought is to drill a Rhino with minimum 3-4 inch pin and lay it out where you can put pin up above the fingers (should increase the differential a little more).  If the reactions are close, which a new Rhino shouldnt be to an old Breeze, adjust the cover to make it a bit stronger.

A Fanatic and Freakshow are going to be just as close to the Brute Strength as those may think a Rhino will be to a Breeze. But I believe the safer bet is to go Rhino over the Fanatic or Freakshow.
